Many businesses probably only use about a quarter of their Business Phone System features. They simply make and take calls or use their voicemail. However, most Business Phone Systems have a wide range of features designed to simplify your workday. Here are some Business Phone System features that your system may have that you’re not aware of:
Pickup Group
Pickup groups allow a group of phones to get pooled together in the phone system database. This is advantageous because if you pool them logically, you can dial the group feature code and any phone in that group can answer a call ringing at any other phone in that group. Why set up your system this way? For one, if a group member is out of the office, another person in that group can then back them up and answer the call. This is great for offices split into different departments like sales, service, etc.
Simultaneous Ring
When you set up simultaneous ring, your desk phone and cell phone will ring at the same time. This allows you the freedom to move around the office without being chained to your desk. You can even leave the office and take business calls on your mobile device. Furthermore, you can transfer calls back and forth from your desk phone to your cell phone if you need to leave your office.
Unified Messaging
Unified Messaging is one of the most convenient Business Phone System features. It allows you to check voicemails from your email account. For example, if a caller leaves you a voicemail, it will be simultaneously sent to your email inbox where you can check it from anywhere.
